What happens if I have paid too much for a contribution schedule

If you’re making payments by direct credit and you’ve paid more than the expected amount we’ll return the overpayment to you. We’ll still allocate the contributions to your contribution schedules as long as you’ve provided the correct payment reference number (‘IT’ reference). If you’ve paid for multiple schedules with the same payment reference and the amount we receive doesn’t match the total amount due for all submitted contribution schedules, we may ask how you’d like us to allocate the payment.

If we’ve allocated your payment for multiple contribution schedules and there’s money left over we’ll refund this to you as an overpayment.
