How do I correct information in an unpaid contribution schedule?

This is a good method to use if you have a small number of corrections. If you want to correct contributions for a large number of members please see How do I correct information in an unpaid schedule by uploading or transferring a file?

To correct a contribution schedule before it’s paid you’ll need to click ‘Manage contributions’ from your Nest home page. Then click the arrow under Edit/Pay next to the schedule you want to correct.

You can enter the correct pensionable earnings of a member by typing the new figures into the Pensionable Earnings (£) box. If you’ve ticked the Auto calc. option, the new Employer contributions (£) and Member contributions (£) figures will automatically change to match the new values.

Once you’ve entered the correct contribution details click ‘Save changes’. The total amount due will adjust according to the changes you’ve made.

You can also change the information by selecting ‘Options’ next to the member’s name. You can do this if you want to make partial or zero contribution. Once you’ve selected ‘Options’, the member’s current contribution details will be displayed but you’ll be able to edit the amounts and options.

Once you’ve entered the new contribution amounts or chosen a different option to not pay full or zero contributions, click ‘Done’. This will take you back to the updated contribution schedule.

When you’re ready, click ‘Submit schedule’. We’ll confirm the total amount due and the member’s status will show as Payment expected or No contributions due.

If you’re using Direct Debit as your payment source, you can either select the ‘Pay now’ or ‘Pay later’ option. If you select ‘Pay now’, the money will be processed to your member's account within five working days.

If you select ‘Pay later’ you’ll get an option to select a date in the future between three working days from the present day and the payment due date of the schedule. We'll attempt the payment from your bank and allocate it to the member's account within five working days of the future date you've selected.

If you’re using a debit card as your payment source, you’ll need to enter your debit card details and the money will be processed to your member's account within five working days.
