What date should I use as an effective date?

The effective date you choose is important as it determines when the payment source change will happen.

Please note the date you select to complete the payment source change must fall on or after the member's start date. This is because the change will not be accepted if you attempt to use a date outside of the member's timeline in NEST.

You'll also need to make sure the date you choose falls within the pay period, also known as the earnings period, of the contribution schedule you’re using to make the payment source change. This is because the change will not be accepted if you attempt to use a date outside of the pay period.

For example, for a calendar monthly schedule of 1–31 January 2016 with a member start date of 2 January 2016, you can use any date from 2–31 January 2016 as the effective date of the payment source change.
