Tim Jones, Chief Executive

 Tim Jones, Chief Executive

Tim has substantial experience in the financial sector, having previously held a variety of senior positions including Non-Executive Director of Capital One Bank (Europe), Chief Executive of Retail Banking at NatWest Bank and Chief Executive at Mondex, Purseus and Simpay.

In addition to his role at NEST, Tim is currently an Independent Director of Investment Technology Group Inc, a New York-based institutional broker dealer, and is on the Board of Directors of the Rotman International Centre for Pension Management.

Nick Carter, General Counsel

 Nick Carter, General Counsel

Nick's career began at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer where he was a Partner. He later joined Capital One Bank in Europe as Chief Legal Counsel, International.

Nick was then Chief Corporate Officer at PA Consulting where he had global responsibility for finance, operations, HR, IT and the legal and compliance functions.

Helen Dean, Managing Director, Scheme Development

 Helen Dean, Managing Director, Scheme Development

Helen is a senior civil servant on secondment from the Department for Work and Pensions.

She has previously worked in Pension Policy where she had responsibility for the Informed Choice initiative, and later for developing the policy that laid the groundwork for NEST.

Before this Helen was responsible for a number of projects and programmes within DWP and also had a range of roles within frontline operations.

 

Mark Fawcett, Chief Investment Officer

 Mark Fawcett, Chief Investment Officer

Mark has been an investment manager for the last 23 years and managed money at a variety of institutions.

At Gartmore, Mark was Head of Japanese Equities while at American Express Asset Management International, he was Chief Investment Officer.

Before joining NEST, Mark was a Partner at the boutique investment manager Thames River Capital LLP.

Paul Greening, Finance Director

 Paul Greening, Finance Director

Paul is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and a senior civil servant on secondment from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Before joining NEST, Paul held a range of finance roles in DWP including Deputy Finance Director of Jobcentre Plus and Head of Finance, Planning and Performance for the Strategy, Information and Pensions Group.

Sam Hainsworth, Chief of Staff

 Sam Hainsworth, Chief of Staff

Sam is a civil servant on secondment from the Department for Work and Pensions. She joined PADA when it was established as Head of the Policy and Legislation team, before being appointed as Chief of Staff.

Sam has previously worked within the NEST policy division at DWP, on the Pensions Commission secretariat and on various delivery projects.

Simon Richards, Business Delivery Director

 Simon Richards, Business Delivery Director

Simon has worked extensively in the financial services industry.

His employment history includes time spent at Citibank, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Goldman Sachs and Simpay.

Simon also founded Alpheus, a niche IT consultancy, based in London and Frankfurt, where he was CEO.

Will Sandbrook, Head of Strategy

 Will Sandbrook, Head of Strategy

Will is a civil servant on secondment from DWP and has been at PADA and then NEST since December 2008.

Before being appointed Head of Strategy, Will was Assistant Director for Corporate Affairs, leading on media and stakeholder engagement activities and market monitoring and analysis. Before NEST, Will spent a number of years in various strategy and communications roles in DWP in both pensions and working-age policy.

Clare Smithson, People, Property and CSR Director

 Clare Smithson, People, Property and CSR Director

Clare has significant HR experience and before joining NEST held a number of senior roles at BT plc. Most recently she managed a team providing the full range of end to end HR activities to BT's Corporate Headquarters including finance, procurement and estates. 

She has worked extensively on transformation projects, TUPE transfers and organisation design and development.
