The day-to-day management of NEST’s assets is performed by professional fund managers, who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
NEST’s investment objectives provide the foundation on which the investment strategy is built and have been selected with the characteristics of NEST’s members in mind.
In our investment consultation held in 2009, we consulted on designing a set of investment objectives that would meet the needs and characteristics of NEST’s members.
Investment beliefs are a set of high-level principles established by pension scheme providers/trustees or investment managers to provide them with focus and help effective internal decision making.
To improve their decision-making processes and make clear to the wider public why certain investment decisions have been made, some large pension funds have published investment beliefs.
These beliefs are unique to their organisation’s investment philosophy and demonstrate how trustees of pension schemes believe financial markets operate. They show how risks are rewarded and how these rewards can be realised for their scheme members.
NEST has established its own set of beliefs for delivering NEST’s investment approach and meeting its investment objectives.
